Casting.

Today we picked the best three people who we fort would be best at acting in our horror film.

We looked at each indviduals Advantages and Disadvantags.

Emilie Hickford.

Advantages: Emilie took drama for GCSE and is an excllent actress and is also normaly free during the week.

Disadvantages: she works at the weekend so wewould have to find a time to suit her which could introupt filimg.

Eloise Hewitt.

Advantage: she loves to act and is in a drama group.

Disadvantage: she is at college and working so would be hard to find time when we're all free.

Shannon Slow.

Advantage:Shannon also took Drama for GCSE and has a passion for acting.

Disadvatage: She is at college so would be hard to find some free time.

We finally chose Emilie Hickford to star in our horror film as we feel she suits the role and is more felxiable then the others.

17/11/11

Today we carried on with our pre-production stage. We took some pictures of a range of possible locations were we could film our horror opeing. we also talked about the advantages and disadvantages of each location.

Location one: Harriets Bedroom.

Advantage: its a farily big bedroom which will give us enough room to film. Also decorated as a mature teen. the house is normaly quiet as everyone is at work or school.

Disadvantage: may need a few props to make it look more girly.

Location two: Taylors bedroom.

   Advantage: this is the biggest bedroom so is ideal for filming as we would be able to move freely.

Disadvantage: may need to add some posters and photos to make it look more like a teen bedroom.

Location three: my bedroom.

Advantage: typical girly teen bedroom so wouldnt need much changing.

Disadvantage: the smallest bedroom so may be to cramped when filming.

After looking at each advantage and disadvantage we then decided Hatties bedroom would be best to film as is a good size, the house is normaly quiet and is close to school.

today we carried on with our storyboards and was completed by the end. We now need to complete location and casing in the pre-production stage.

In this lesson we carried on with our pre-production, we started to draw up our story board for our opening we had to include, location,shot number, camera angle and camera movement.

During todays lesson we started our pre-production stage, first of all we needed to come up with two completly diffrent openings to our horror film, this is so we had more of a chocice when deciding our final idea.

Our Horror Film!

POSESSIVE

Its joanna's birthday and she and the girls organise a house party. A great opportunity to move on from her former boyfriend shes had enough off. An old house that hasnt been lived in for years seems like the perfect place. No one to interupt them.

The nght doesnt exactly start as planned, the fuse goes stopping the music and turning the lights off. Emilie, Joanna's superstitious best friend panics and deems that tonight was a bad idea. The others ignore her and continue to get ready. Little did they know Emilie was right, tonight was a bad idea!

As more people started to arrive to the party, others disappeared...

The girls unaware that they had joined a repulsive and twisted game, sparked by jealousy, have to fight for survival. Was Joanna celebrating the split of her and her boyfriend such a good idea?

During this lesson we presented out Pitch to Mr Henton and he then comfirmed it was a suiable idea.

our group uploaded our footage onto the macs, we then began to edit the footage together adding transitions and credits.

This lesson Me,Taylor and Hattie Filmed our prelim task. We then put our filming on to the macs and started to edit it togeather.

media lesson 6th october 2010.

In this lesson we talked about the opening to the horror film 'The Shinning'. We also Watched the opening to 'The Wrong Turn', we picked out the visual and audio conventions of this film.

during this lesson we looked at Horror film conventions. We aslo watched the first 5 mins of  jeepers creepers, jeepers creepers 2 and dead wood. This was so we could gain ideas of what openings to horror films are like.

Media lesson, 27th september,

I was not at this lesson due to being ill, however my class mates have informed me with what they done. They was given a camera and was able to see how they work and shown how to take things off the camera onto the mac computers.

Today we learned how to use the imac computers. We was shown how to cut and edit a peice of film, we was given a peice of film to cut, edit and add sound effects.

We have now started to draw our storyboards. We looked at how to work the camera and tripods. We now know where we can get a camera from and also how and when we can use the media room. Each group in the class was given a name of a famous director.

In this lesson we reviewed all the camera angles, movements and shots. We was then introduced into storyboarding and started to plan our storyboards.

My first media lesson, What ive learnt.

In media so far i have learnt the key words and the correct language i should use when doing my work.
I was taught how to use the school emailing process and i proved i could do this by sending an email to my teacher from my account. I learnt all the different camera shots camera angles and camera movements.
I also now know what the preliminary task is and what it involves, i chose the people who I’m going to be working with which is harriet nash and taylor wright i chose these people as i know i can work well with them and know they are reliable to work alongside with.
